  9. Medium Description:  Thelma Thistleblossom 5.08 is a writing aid to help the
  10. writer create strong, readable, and concise documents.  When Thelma finds a
  11. potential problem, Thelma highlights the problem in context, gives a comment to
  12. define the problem, and then gives advice on how to fix the problem.  Thelma
  13. is for use with WordPerfect 5.0 and 5.1 documents.

  17. Long Description:  Thelma Thistleblossom 5.08 is a style and grammar checker
  18. for WordPerfect 5.0 and 5.1 on the IBM PC.  It is a writing aid to help create
  19. strong,readable, and concise documents.

  21. Thelma examines the document for problems such as: passive voice, long
  22. sentences, subject-verb agreement, cliches, punctuation, and spelling (based on
  23. an 85,000 word dictionary).  Thelma helps writers write at the appropriate tone
  24. for their audience.

  26. As a grammar checker, Thelma helps, not hinders, the writing process.  It only
  27. takes one pass through the document to identify errors in grammar, style,
  28. spelling, syntax, and punctuation.  This interactive checker allows users to
  29. make corrections during this single pass through the document.  As a safety
  30. measure, Thelma checks the corrections made to ensure no new errors were
  31. introduced.  When finished, the user feels confident that the proofreading
  32. process is complete.

  34. Thelma does not require a two-way file format conversion, which wastes time and
  35. sometimes loses formatting information.  Thelma Thistleblossom imitates
  36. WordPerfect's user interface, so the user is instantly comfortable with the
  37. editing and command keys.
